The short version. FuelSA has no accounts, no analytics, no advertising and no third-party trackers. It does not collect personal information about you. Your location is used on your device only and is never sent to us or stored. Your saved stations stay on your iPhone.
1. Who we are
FuelSA is developed and published by Hayden Kong (“we”, “us”), based in Australia. This policy explains how the FuelSA iPhone app and the website at fuelsa.haydenkong.com handle information. We handle personal information consistently with the Australian Privacy Principles in the Privacy Act 1988 (Cth).

2. Information we collect
We do not collect personal information through the FuelSA app. There is no sign-up, no login and no user profile. We do not operate analytics, advertising, attribution or crash-reporting services in the app, and the app contains no third-party tracking SDKs. We do not track you across apps or websites owned by other companies, and we do not sell or share personal information.
If you email us for support, we receive the information you choose to put in that email — your email address, and whatever you tell us about your problem. We use it only to answer you.
3. Information stored on your device
Some information is stored locally on your iPhone. It stays there, is not transmitted to us, and is removed when you delete the app.

4. Location
FuelSA asks for “while using the app” location access. Location is used for two things only: centring the map, and working out how far each station is from you. The calculation happens entirely on your device.
Your location is never sent to us, never attached to a request for fuel prices, and never stored as a history. FuelSA does not request background or “always” location access.
You can refuse or withdraw location access at any time in Settings › Privacy & Security › Location Services › FuelSA, or from the Location section inside FuelSA. The app remains fully usable without it — you simply will not see distances or an automatically centred map.
5. Services FuelSA connects to
FuelSA makes network requests to two places. Neither request includes your name, your device identifiers or your location.
South Australian Fuel Pricing Information Scheme
Fuel prices and station details are requested from the official scheme API operated for the Government of South Australia. Requests ask for the South Australian data set as a whole; they do not describe you or where you are. As with any internet request, the receiving server can see the IP address the request came from. Apple Maps
Maps, map tiles and the optional phone number and website shown on a station page come from Apple’s MapKit services, which are built into iOS. Apple’s handling of that data is governed by Apple’s Privacy Policy. FuelSA does not receive a copy of anything Apple collects.
6. This website
fuelsa.haydenkong.com is hosted by Vercel Inc. It sets no cookies, runs no analytics and embeds no third-party trackers. Like any web host, Vercel processes standard server request data (including IP address and browser user agent) to deliver the site and protect it from abuse. See Vercel’s privacy policy.
7. Children
FuelSA is a general-audience utility and is not directed at children. It collects no personal information from anyone, including children.
8. How long information is kept
We hold no personal information about app users, so there is nothing for us to retain or delete on request. Cached data and saved stations live on your device and are removed when you delete the app or clear its data. Support emails are kept only as long as needed to resolve your enquiry and to keep a record of it.
9. Your rights
Under the Privacy Act 1988 (Cth) you may request access to, or correction of, personal information we hold about you. In practice this would only ever be support correspondence. Email fuelsa@haydenkong.com and we will respond within 30 days. If you are not satisfied with our response, you can complain to the Office of the Australian Information Commissioner.
10. Security
All network requests made by FuelSA use HTTPS. Because we hold no user data on servers, there is no user database to breach.
11. Changes to this policy
If this policy changes, the updated version will be published on this page with a new “last updated” date. Material changes affecting how information is handled will be noted in the app’s release notes.
